Ok before we start. We are bias :) Living in Michigan is our home state but more than this we have a deep love for the beaches and lakes! We have not visited every beach but we have been to a lot so we decided to rate our favorites! Click on each one to read more about it and see why we love it!Here are our top beaches ranked (click on each one to see why):
#10 Charlevoix State Park - very rocky but so fun for the kids to explore. So beautiful as well!
#9 Tunnel ParkWe love this park for the cool playground and large dune you can run on! The beach itself is pretty populated. There are also sand volly ball courts here as well!
#8 Holland Michigan State ParkThis is our home town beach and we love it! It's very populated but know for it's beautiful red lighthouse 'big red." The bike trails that lead right up to it are so fun and you are only a few blocks from the best ice cream shops :)
#7 Muskegon State Park - We haven't been in the summer so not sure the business level but when we went in October we were the only ones on this beautiful lake shore! The waves were stunning as well!
#6 Grand Haven State Park
This park is one of our favorites because you can camp right on the beach! Fun for the girls with the park right on the beach as well. Check out our tips here and our camping info here!
# 5 Rosey Mounds Natural Area - Grand Haven - This is a mile and a half hike out but this is definitely one of the most beautiful places. It is nice because it's more difficult to get to you'll have more space and less people! The trail is gorgeous too, check it out here!
#4 Saugatuck State Park / Oval Beach
This area is just stunning... we love hiking out on the beautiful trails- see our favorites here. These beaches have one of a kind views and beautiful grasses!
#3 Mackinac Island Beach- You probably won't have time to lay out... because the only way to get here is by biking.. but be sure and enjoy the sites and walk across the street for some goodies too :)
