We spent more of our time in the Netherlands tracking down some fun history for our family's culture "The Willinks". This road trip might not be for everyone but we really enjoyed not doing the 'classics' and putting ourselves in a different culture. This is more of a blog then just tips :) Enjoy! Highly recommend knowing some of the language. A wonderful resource to learn right along with your kids is, TalkBox.Mom !

We jumped train to train to a town called We stayed in a nice hotel that you can rent bikes at.

Taking the bikes we head towards "Willink Stratt" which we also found a local cafe called "Willink Cafe" as well! We. being the Willinks, had to eat in the Willink Cafe so blew our food budget for this day :) Worth it!

Next we took our bikes to find the Willink homestead! Dating back many years - so cool to find our heritage!
We did meet the man that now lives there, but not speaking the same language, didn't get to explain who were. I'm sure he was confused how the heck these strange

Americans were here at his house :) Heading back to Amsterdam for the day we soaked in the sites. They are known for so much more but with the short time we had we just soaked in the town sites and historical canals. We also had to stop and enjoy a dutch pastry of course... which is so dutch and so delicious!
